Effective September 1, 2008: The MSCCSP has revised the rule concerning the use of probations before judgment (PBJ) in the calculation of the prior adult criminal record section of the Maryland Sentencing Guidelines Worksheet. Click HERE for a detailed explanation the revised rule.

The Commission's annual Public Comments Hearing will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in the Judiciary Committee Hearing Room (Room 100), House Office Building in Annapolis, MD.

Proposed revisions to the Maryland sentencing guidelines offense table were published in the August 29, 2008 edition of the Maryland Register. Public Comment on the proposed changes will be accepted until September 29, 2008.

The MSCCSP released an updated Guidelines Offense Table on July 1, 2008. Click HERE to download a print friendly PDF version of the offense table.

The MSCCSP adopted a revised Maryland Sentencing Guidelines Worksheet (version 1.4). The revised Worksheet includes a new field for recording the State Identification (SID) number. Distribution of the new Worksheet began in December 2007.

The Honorable Howard S. Chasanow, retired judge, Maryland Court of Appeals, was appointed Chairman of the Maryland State Commission on Criminal Sentencing Policy by Governor Martin O'Malley on June 4, 2007.
